KIDS AND NEW FOODS
Did you know?
It can take 15 tries before a new taste is accepted as liked.
It is important to keep allowing children to try new foods and textures even when the initial try might have concluded with them not liking it.
Allowing children to serve themselves and to choose what goes on their plate (with guidance to help them get a balance) can encourage them to try new foods.
Today on our menu is chicken and green bean curry with baby spinach leaves.
My youngest is always a little suspicious about new foods so I kept some cooked chicken back before adding the sauce in case he really didn't like the curry.
Poppadoms might not be the healthiest of foods but just a very small portion adds a nice crunch and are good way to get kids to try a new food if they can dip something in it for the first taste.
